Legislative Forum Scheduled March 21st
Boone County Legislative Delegation to Update Community
Harrison, AR, March 17, 2023. Dr. Stewart Pratt, Chair of the Harrison Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Government Affairs Committee and Superintendent of Harrison Public Schools, announced today that the committee will sponsor a Legislative Forum on Tuesday, March 21st, 8:00-9:00am, in the Community Room of Signature Bank.
State Senator Scott Flippo, District 23 (the Eastern half of Boone County) and Senator Bryan King, District 28 (the Western half of Boone County), along with Representative Ron McNair, District 5 (the Southern half of Boone County) and Representative Harlan Breaux, District 6 (the Northern half of Boone County), will participate in the forum.
Pratt noted, “The forum will give the community an opportunity to hear from and engage Boone County’s two senators and two representatives regarding the past eight weeks of Arkansas’ 94th General Assembly and look to the remaining weeks of the session in Little Rock. We expect our delegation to highlight legislation already passed and enlighten us on legislation to be introduced in the latter weeks of the session.”
Chair of the Harrison Regional Chamber of Commerce and President, Phillips Media, Jim Holland, said “We expect a hearty exchange of questions and answers between our elected state representatives and the Boone County community, sort of a ‘time-out’ huddle of the General Assembly’s session. This will provide the delegation an opportunity to receive input on upcoming issues of importance to North Central Arkansas.”
The Government Affairs Committee is one of four committees of the Board of Directors. The committee engages with Chamber investors to gain their perspective on legislation brought to the session and provides collaborative input to the delegation in a regular exchange of dialogue.
